TELLING NUMBERS: From Lokniti Archives
with The Indian Express
Lokniti-CSDS has collaborated with The Indian Express to share some key insights from its survey data archives on a relevant topic, being published as a fortnightly column titled 'Telling Numbers: From Lokniti Archives'.
The latest article of the series, 'What voters think of double engine government', written by Jyoti Mishra, looks at what voters think of the idea of electing the same party as the one ruling at the Centre and if it's beneficial for the development of the state and how far election results have reflected their opinion.

CURRENT PROJECTS
Lokniti is currently engaged in a couple of projects/studies. First, Lokniti has partnered with the M.S. Merian – R. Tagore International Centre of Advanced Studies ‘Metamorphoses of the Political’ (ICAS: MP) for a Study of Urban Poor in Delhi: Experiences, Expectations & Engagements. After a brief intervention due to the Omicron variant, the interviews have been resumed. The study is being conducted among people living in slums spread across 11 districts in Delhi.
Second, Lokniti has also partnered with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung for a national study that will look into citizens' media consumption and practices. The fieldwork for the same is now complete and the project will soon move to the analysis and report writing stage. The survey is comprehensive in nature and attempts to capture people's access, practices, and concerns with respect to all forms of media - traditional, new, and evolving.
Third, Lokniti has also collaborated with Kings College London for a study on "Democracy and Health in India: Voter Expectation Survey". The study will take place in five states namely Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and UP. We have sampled the districts from each state on the basis of their performance on health indicators. The questionnaire is ready and has been shared with the state coordinators for translation.

LOKNITI DATA: Cited by others
Here is a list of articles that appeared during the last month where the authors (independent of Lokniti) have cited the data from Lokniti-CSDS studies. We would like to make it clear that the inferences drawn from our data by the authors are entirely their own and do not reflect the position of Lokniti.
