  CURRENT PROJECTS

Lokniti is currently engaged in a couple of projects/studies. First, Lokniti has partnered with the M.S. Merian – R. Tagore International Centre of Advanced Studies ‘Metamorphoses of the Political’ (ICAS: MP)  for a Study of Urban Poor in Delhi: Experiences, Expectations & Engagements, being conducted among people living in slums spread across 11 districts in Delhi. All the face-to-face interviews are completed, and currently, the data entry is in process.

Second,  Lokniti has also partnered with  Konrad Adenauer Stiftung for a national study that looks into citizens' media consumption and practices. The survey is comprehensive in nature and attempts to capture people's access, practices, and concerns with respect to all forms of media - traditional, new, and evolving. The project is in the analysis and report writing stage.

Third, Lokniti has also collaborated with Kings College London for a study on "Democracy and Health in India: Voter Expectation Survey". The study will take place in five states namely Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and UP. We have sampled the districts from each state on the basis of their performance on health indicators. The pilot study for the same has been completed and the questionnaires are being revised in light of the new inputs received from the pilot study.

Fourth, post-poll analysis based on the survey data collected by Lokniti in the four states where elections have recently concluded is also underway.

Fifth, Lokniti has also collaborated with Common Cause for a study on "Surveillance and Democracy in India". Currently, the questionnaire is being prepared for the same.
