STUDIES IN INDIAN POLITICS
Studies in Indian Politics (SIP) is a bi-annual journal established in 2013, published by the Centre for the Studies of Developing Societies (CSDS) and managed by SAGE, employing a double-blind peer-review process.
SIP presents research articles covering various facets of Indian politics, showcasing original research conducted through both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Focusing on India, the journal encompasses topics such as the history of political ideas, political thought, political institutions and processes, political economy, India in a comparative perspective (especially with the global south), India's global engagement, and public policies. It also reflects the latest advancements and developments in political studies related to India.
The realm of politics and policy developments in India is expansive, and the analyses and theories presented in SIP have the potential to influence the evolution of the discipline. The contributors to SIP range from well-established scholars to emerging researchers.
Founded in 1963, CSDS has become a prominent research institution in Asia, engaging critically with social and political processes in the global south from diverse intellectual perspectives. SIP, brought out by Lokniti, a CSDS research program on comparative democracy, aims to bring together, refine through rigorous screening and review, and facilitate discussions and theories on various aspects of Indian politics. The editorial and advisory board comprises scholars with significant contributions to political studies in their respective areas of inquiry.
SIP's readership extends beyond interested researchers in India and worldwide, encompassing teachers, postgraduate and research students, journalists, civil society practitioners, political commentators, and policymakers.
